Lars A. Hellebust (born 1971) began his career in film at the National
Broadcasting Corporation in Norway (NRK), as a documentary film producer and
director, as well as handling acquisitions of internationally produced
content. In 2000, he founded the Norwegian based broadband provider BlueCom,
with presence in Norway and Sweden. The company was raised without any
external funding and is today the third largest broadband company in Norway.
BlueCom was at the forefront of innovating new distribution media, including
video-on-demand and interactive TV solutions. BlueCom was sold in 2004.
In 2003 Hellebust left BlueCom as CEO to set up film production company
Storm Studio. He is currently producing two documentaries, and was Executive
Producer on Peter & the Wolf.
Hellebust holds a BA from Yale University in History and Drama.
